Difference between undergraduate and graduate degree in the US :

In the US, Associates and Bachelor?s degree are considered undergraduate coursework, while the Master?s and doctoral degrees are considered graduate coursework. An undergraduate degree is awarded on the completion of two years (associates) or four years (Bachelor?s) of college-level study. A graduate degree is awarded after attending graduate school. A graduate degree generally takes two to three years of graduate school after college.

Cost : The cost (tuition+living expenses) could range from $15,000 to $70,000 for a year, depending on the course. The average cost for a year of study is $25,000. It is highly recommended to plan your finances including scholarship applications, assistantships and education loans at least a year before the commencement of the academic course.

Eligibility : In order to undertake undergraduate studies in the US, international students need to have completed 12 years of schooling. In order to begin graduate studies, international students need to have the equivalent of a US Bachelor?s degree. In other words, 16 years of education before grad school. There are a few exceptions to this general rule. Students going for under graduation in the US will be required by universities to take SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Tests. Most graduate departments require students to take one or more of the following: GRE (General Test), GRE (Subject Test), GMAT, Test of Spoken English.

Work rules : International students can work up to 20 hours a week during term-time, and full-time during vacations.
