As there is lot in common between the Indian education system and the British system, Indian students going to study in the UK are at definite advantage.

Education : UK institutions offer undergraduate, postgraduate, career-based and pre-university courses. The full-time undergraduate courses can span from one to four years. They include Higher National Certificate (HNC) or Diploma (HND), foundation degrees, diplomas of higher education, and three-year degrees. The Master?s degrees including MBA at most of the UK universities would be for one year only. The PhD or doctorate will take three to four years to complete.

Eligibility : Except for few, most of the universities / colleges accept CBSE and other Indian qualifications.

Work rule : Students applying for one full-time course are allowed to work 20 hours a week during the term and 40 hours off-term. Those applying for a six-month course can work six to 10 hours a week. Those applying for less than a six-month course are not allowed to work according to the changed rules.

Cost : The cost of living in central London can be anywhere between 700 and 800 pounds. The living cost in other parts of the UK is lesser at around 650 pounds per-month.
